48 Hours in Paris

48 HOURS IN…..PARIS 🇨🇵

Romance is in the air with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, so we thought we’d give you a flavour of what you could do with 48 hours in the the French capital…..and as Audrey Hepburn would say “Paris is always a good idea”! ♥️

🇨🇵 Day 1

Take an early morning flight, there is so much to see in this amazing city that it’s great to get a head start…

After you’ve dropped you bags head straight to Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, there is not a more stunning site to see than the 854 year old church, with its gothic, intricate exterior and just cannot be appreciated unless it’s seen up close. You can take an audio tour to find out the full history and admission is free.

For lunch you are in the perfect area to head over to Le Marais, it’s just over the river, the whole neighbourhood is full of quirky shops and bars. The Jewish quarter is home to a very popular restaurant , L’as du Fallafel – a kosher middle eastern restaurant that serve a great Fallafel Sandwich. The nearest museum will be Centre Pompidou, a museum of modern art featuring guest artists throughout the year and then head to Musée du Louvre home of the Mona Lisa, the Venus De Milo and the iconic painting by Eugene Delacroix- Liberty Leading The People.

Tonight try a traditional French meal, there are hundreds of restaurants to choose from, a popular choice is Les Enfants Purdus.

🇨🇵 Day 2

Have breakfast out, this morning is all about the Tour Eiffel. There’s a cool cafe on the left bank Kozy Salon Urbine not far from the Tower that serves great breakfast and brunch, perfect for setting you up for the day. It’s worth pre-booking your Eiffel Tower tour including summit access before you go, this will help you plan your time as it goes without saying it’s always very busy. Remember your camera, you will never be able to describe the view to your friends!

Cross the river and head over to the Arc de Triomphe, this is where you’ll find the tomb of the unknown solider, and again you climb to the top of the monument for a birdseye view of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. Later today you’ll see a very different view of this famous avenue, whilst you spend some time visiting the amazing shops, possibly picking up some gorgeous purchases and of course making a stop at one of the many patisseries (it would be rude not too)! Once you have worked your way down you’ll finish at the famous Place De la Concorde.

Tonight is one to tick off your bucket list – Champagne and the Le Moulin Rouge (Officiel), I would say there is nothing more Parisian than watching this enchanting, exciting and colourful performance. Book the late show so you have time for drinks and a meal in the Montmartre district this will give you chance to get into the bohemian spirit and also see the magnificent Sacré-Cœur, Paris.
