Destination of the Week – British Columbia 🇨🇦️

Arundel Travel Canada

We’re going to take you across the pond to explore a spectacular world of mighty mountains, deep forests and dramatic coastlines…..enjoy!

🇨🇦 MUST DO’S

MALAKWA
The Enchanted Forest – An old world fairytale-land with over 350 fairy folk figurines hidden amongst 800 year old cedars.
Artist Doris Needham and her husband Ernest needed a place to put her hand-sculpted cement creations, so they bought a forest and filled it with enchanted figures from fairytales and nursery rhymes.

WEST VANCOUVER
Grouse Mountain and the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. This expansive bridge in the Canadian wilderness was originally just built for friends. After sending a team of horses swimming across the Capilano River with a long rope in tow, the builder of the original Capilano Suspension Bridge could never have dreamed that his simple span would become a world-class attraction.

HOPE
Othello Tunnels – Walking through solid rock, these lovely Canadian tunnels are the remnants of a former train system, but can now be trekked through on foot.

VANCOUVER
Take a foodie tour, join fellow culinary friends and and head for Vancouver’s amazing market. Sample the delights and chat with the stall holders.

VANCOUVER

Whale Watching – Every summer over 80 Orca whales visit the waters south of Vancouver. You could also spot Porpoises, Seals, Sea Lions and Bald Eagles.

🇨🇦 TRANSPORT

🇨🇦 WHERE TO STAY

TRY SOMETHING UNIQUE
Free Spirit Spheres Inc – sleep in the forest canopy’s of Vancouver Island (check out I Love Vancouver Island)

ON NATURE’S EDGE
Wickaninnish Inn, Tofino

CITY CENTRE
Sandman Hotel Vancouver City Centre

🇨🇦 EAT LIKE A LOCAL

GOOSENECK BARNACLES
This crustacean has a long, delicious neck that is arguably more delicious than actual goose neck, but the name stems from the notion that these bizarre creatures are goose eggs.

British Columbia is a foodie heaven and many restaurants using all things local the menus choices are vast…

… if you like keeping it local, try the fabulous Otta’s Leah in our very own little part of the world, Otley!
