I thought I’d tell you a little bit about me…
My name is Helen, I’m married to Nick and have a daughter Holly and two step daughters Francesca and Isabella. Oh a dog Alsia and a cat Toby (when he’s around!). As you can see Nick has a very busy life looking after us all!
Why Otley? I love Otley. My dad Ken is originally from here, and this is where I spent so much time growing up; whether at my Grandma and Grandad’s, who lived next door to Toyland Toyshop Otley, watching the rugby down at Old Otliensians RUFC, or working the weekend at Hagues Bakery and Stephen.H.Smith’s Garden Centre – Otley. Following in our dad’s footsteps with my two brothers Matt and Rick, I went school at Prince Henry’s Grammar School, Otley. Of course, as I got older, I spent plenty of time in the local pubs and “Moonies”

I’ve worked in travel for 23 years now, and it still amazes me how much I still love it.
I started as a Youth Trainee at Lunn Poly (which went onto be Thomson’s) in Yeadon and then the Otley branch on Kirkgate, where I then spent many years. I eventually managed the store before moving onto the Superstore in Bradford.
For the last 4 years I have worked for Jet2Holidays which has been amazing, and I have shared some fantastic milestones and celebrations with them as they have grown.
I feel really lucky to have had the chance over the 23 years to visit some amazing destinations, from Zimbabwe to Isle of Wight, Scotland to Tenerife, and as my mum Clarissa will tell you, I always fall in love with every single place. That’s where our tag line came from:
“Fall in love with the world”
So here I am, having this huge opportunity to do what I’ve always wanted! Open my own high street travel agency and help people find their holidays, adventures and dreams.
I just can’t wait to open the doors to Arundel Travel and am so happy that you are all along for the ride with me
